celebrating 5 years of impact

Visit it our new webpage where we celebrate and reflect on our key achievements and impacts over the past five years!

With over 250 researchers in different parts of the world, the Hub is a pioneer in bringing together ocean-reliant communities, decision-makers and civil society, to collaboratively influence decisions and practices, shaping the future of ocean health and sustainability for justice and equity.

Working across multiple sustainable development goals, in key areas of research in climate and biodiversity, blue economies and society, fisheries, international development and impact and marine spatial planning, the Hub’s work highlights the ocean’s critical role in climate regulation and the need to protect human rights in the context of climate change, particularly the rights of indigenous peoples, local communities and children.

The impact of One Ocean Hub’s fair research practice has seen transformation taking place at the local community, as well as national and regional levels, and even at the international level, promoting fair and inclusive decision-making for a healthier ocean whereby people and planet flourish.
